HMS and Microsoft extends their technical alliance a 28th consecutive year

Microsoft Silver Certified Partner
Microsoft and HMS started a technical alliance in 1995 that continues to meet the test of time. Microsoft has just extended HMS Software’s membership in the Microsoft Partner Network for the 2023-2024 season.

Montreal, June 29, 2023 – Microsoft has just named HMS Software, the publisher of TimeControl, the world's most flexible multi-function timesheet systems as a member of the Microsoft Partner Network for a 28th consecutive year. This is one of the oldest technical alliances in the software industry.

“Our relationship with Microsoft actually pre-dates the Microsoft Partner Network,” says Chris Vandersluis, President of HMS Software. “We originally joined the Microsoft Solution Provider Program and then were migrated into the Microsoft Partner Network when it was formed in 2000. Our interests in being allied together came from the same goal: to provide better solutions to our joint clients. Our work in 1995 started with the link between our TimeControl timesheet system and Microsoft Project but it has extended so far since. TimeControl leverages numerous Microsoft Technologies including Office 365, Windows Server, SQL Server, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, and of course, Microsoft Project and Project Online. Our relationships with Microsoft are at both a technical and business level at numerous touchpoints across our organizations and we continue to collaborate with them as each company releases new technical products and features.”

HMS Software’s TimeControl timesheet has included integration with every version of Microsoft Project since 1995. This includes all of Microsoft’s current editions of Microsoft Project including Microsoft Project for the Desktop, Microsoft Project Online, Microsoft Project Server and Microsoft Project for the Web.

Microsoft technology is used to deliver both TimeControl and TimeControl Online, HMS Software’s in-the-cloud subscription timesheet service. Other technologies used can vary from client to client. Windows Server is the platform for the server and some clients will combine that with Microsoft Project, Office 365, SharePoint, Teams, Dynamics or SQL Server.

Using HMS Software’s TimeControl with Microsoft technologies either with our on premise version or in our Software as a Service subscription in the cloud allows clients to enhance their business processes to comply with numerous timesheet requirements such as simultaneous project tracking, billing, HR management, payroll, job costing and auditable governance such as R&D tax credits, DCAA or Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.

There are so many points at which HMS and Microsoft interact that HMS has created a resources portal to help identify which Microsoft technologies can be advantageous when using TimeControl. The portal includes resources such as white papers, webcasts, PowerPoint presentations and more. The TimeControl Microsoft Technology Portal can be found at: Microsoft.TimeControl.com.
