MONTREAL - October 31st, 1996 - Cobra 3.0, Welcom Software Technology's
32-bit cost management software, is now available for immediate shipment
in Canada, it was announced by Chris Vandersluis, President of Welcom's
Canadian distrubutor, HMS Software. Cobra 3.0 is the first Windows 95
and Windows NT - designed product on the market to deliver powerful and
comprehensive cost management for managing and analyzing budgets, earned
value, actuals, and forecasts.
For many years Cobra has been a success throughout the world in its DOS
form. Cobra meets the exacting standards required by the US Government
such as the C/SCSC (Cost/Schedule Control System Criteria). Welcom
brought Cobra into the 32-bit Windows world and it's unique flexibility
and extensive features are based on an open architecture using industry
standard databases. This ensures that organizations using Cobra will be
providing all the latest technology to their users.
Cobra's strength lies in its ability to handle diverse cost management
needs for commercial enterprises and government contractors - proposal
pricing, cash flow management, strategic planning, and performance
measurement. Cobra supports all the widely ued performance measurement
techniques, allows users to track unlimited types of costs, and permits
the most powerful forecasting capabilities available today.
Cobra also features powerful and flexible reporting, and helps users
build custom reports using step-by-step wizards. A Spreadsheet Wizard
helps the user select criteria for a report through easy to follow
dialogue. A Results Wizard allows new results o be displayed from the
addition of existing results to offer even more reporting variety. A
Chart Template Designer provides a virtually unlimited number of
graphical 2- and 3-dimensional charts in which every aspect of the
output (such as color and rotation of a 3-D graph) can be defined.
Users will benefit from the powerful Excel-style reporting that Cobra
offers. Reports are generated in a familiar Excel-style spreadsheet
where options such as annotations, column widths, fonts and more can be
defined interactively. Reports can also b saved to an Excel .xls file
format.
